When I tried to start the engine late yesterday on a = freshly=20 charged battery, no fire in hole, tried starting fluid because engine = has set=20 for a week and had to do this at LAL after a week at SNF. Engine will go = back to=20 Bruce probably in July to fiqure out why there is only 75 psi cranking=20 compression. While cranking, the rpm display on the EM2 was constantly = flashing=20 0 and NOP!  Anyone have a hint what that is trying to tell = me??

Mornin=20 Bernie,

First, = congrats on=20 getting your medical back. (old guy joke deleted=20 <g>)

NOP = means not operating=20 or something to that effect.  I "think" it always says that until = the=20 engine cranks.

-As Ed = asked, did you=20 get any sign of fire even with the starting fluid?  If not, that = should=20 rule out any fuel pump issues.

-Are the results the same if you = try=20 controller B?

-Are you sure you don't have the = injector=20 disable switches off?  I've done that to myself a couple = times. =20 Still, you would think starting fluid would fire, though the engine = wouldn't=20 keep running.  It's possible that the EC-2 is smart enough to know = that you=20 have both injector sets off, so it wouldn't bother trying to fire the = plugs=20 either.

-If you're getting any firing, = the coils are=20 probably OK.  If not, then you might want to check to make sure = they have=20 power.

-Also if no firing, make sure = the EC-2 has=20 power. For heaven sakes, if it blew a fuse, don't admit it = :-)  =20 If it's not handy to get a meter on the EC-2 circuit, you could also use = the=20 EM-2 to read the MAP table on the EC-2.  If it can read it, then = the EC-2=20 has power.

Good luck!
Rusty

PS- I nominate Ed as the Tracy = substitute=20 :-)
