Of course you are correct due to the single drive (as usual).failure of that drive would need some major internal problem. The shaft turn freely supported by 2 ball bearings with no load on it,so the odds are in my favor. In my opinion its still better than only one. For the space between the drive & flex plate, I'm looking at adapting an outboard alternator & at the rear a Glimmer belt drive for the alternator, water & dry sump pump drive (separate belts for the DS)

Very Interesting approach, Georges.
Simpler than trying to adapt the twin distributor 12A front mount. However, with both on the same shaft not certain you have true redundancy - in my opinion the shaft is more likely to fail than the simply electrical circuit used to sense the rotation. For true redundancy, I would think you would want to put a flywheel/pulley angle sensor - probably flywheel end where a flopping belt wouldn't tear it out.

I gave up on the 12a front cover to have igniter redundancy. The first photo is the semi completed unit (need to install upper shaft). Second is the adaptor & 3rd (out of focus)is the upper shaft with the center drilled out for the mounting bolt. The shaft has a ball bearing for support at the top (great support) the bearing retainer is left out as the upper shaft locates the bearing . A star washer between the two shaft will lock the two together.(note: machining accuracy is very important)
The amount of space required shouldn't be a problem on any installation
