I gave up on the 12a front cover to have igniter redundancy.The
first photo is the semi completed unit (need to install upper shaft).
Second is the adaptor & 3rd (out of focus)is the upper shaft with
the center drilled out for the mounting bolt. The shaft has a ball
bearing for support at the top (great support) the bearing retainer is
left out as the upper shaft locates the bearing . A star washer between
the two shaft will lock the two together.(note: machining accuracy is
very important)
The amount of space required shouldn't be a problem on any
installation
