A Fuse can be the problem just as easy - if you read the material on the web.  A fuse  has failure modes and can "wear" out.   But, as previous discussions on the topic, I don't think facts one way or the other is going to change anybody's mind set.   I have never had a bad CB so undoubtedly that colors my perspective on their use. Clearly either method can perform the function - so it comes down to other factors that one considers important.

Hey Ed, how about if the CB trips because the circuit breaker IS the problem?  The only tripped breaker I've seen in a certified plane turned out to be a bad CB.  I've also seen bad CB's at home, and at work.  Why add another device that can fail?
