additionally,
You should obviously go with your personal comfort level, but all the
FAA-certified a/c engine quickdrains I've seen on Lycs are spring loaded
shut just like fuel sump quickdrains & I've never noticed any provision
for safety wire on the mechanism. I don't trust my memory on whether the
nut itself has safety wire provisions.

The ones on the Lycs you mentioned work with some kind of bayonet-lock: push
up and twist - it stays open / push up twist back - it closes.
I'll have a look wether the whole assembly is safetywired to the engine
tomorrow...
Very nice arragement, however considering this certified stuff, probably
very pricey.
If someone wants to know I can try to find out a price, but wont be back in
the office before saturday to fire off a quote request...
