Todd,
What about the electrically operated
valves (see list from Paul). It looks like it would be easier to install in
that you don’t have any control cable running through the firewall. And
you won’t have the cable sticking out into the cabin, just a switch.

Ooops, this isn't quite the same valve.
Mine is push-to-close, which is where the current problem lies as it just
flexes the wire when the valve sticks. That and as I said it is
5/8"X5/8". Other than that it looks identical.

This is the same valve I used (the one that's not
working very well right now :-), except in 5/8" X 5/8". Actually I
doubt it's just the valve at fault. I've been thinking more about this and I'm
certain that this became an issue immediately after I changed to the pink
anti-freeze, along with a few other minor issues. The cable that I use to
operate this is also not of the highest quality. It is from a manual choke
conversion kit ($7, cheap & lightweight).
