Bill, from the picture you sent, it isn't clear to me where the 'cool tube'
ends inside the muffler. Give me a clue!

am attaching several JPEGS of tangential mufflers. The smaller muffler is a
variant on the cool tube theme, with the bounce panel added. The Jabaru uses a
muffler of this style without the cool tube, and it's very quiet. I think the
cool tube is a good idea on the rotary to help control temps. The second set
of JPEGS is the original VAM concept. Note that the layout is setup for a 20B
since that is what I'll be running. The pic with the text shows where the idea
was "got wrong" for the test unit. I believe ED K. did a good job of building
it but then they ran it sans tailpipe which skewed the result.
