Hi, Ed....sorry, but I haven't flown off the 40 hours yet.  I have been doing a LOT of ground running, aborted takeoffs, etc.  I have ran the engine until water temps hit 240 degrees 4 times in the last 4 days, and absolutely no signs of vapor lock.  (prior to modifications, I could induce vapor lock consistantly at 230 degrees).  I finished the RAM air cowling scoop, and almost finished the aluminum throttlebody extension scoop (just needs to be welded), and a few more attempts at fine tuning the injector open times (mixture), and it should be ready for another flight test.  I already have more power than previous runs, and the engine is running great with the new injector, so it should fly even faster than before, and if the ram air scoop functions as I would hope, I should be flying off the hours rather rapidly. (On my first LongEZ, I flew the 40 hours off in the first week, putting 10 hours in on one Saturday).  If the final tweaking is successful, I plan on doing a LOT of flying.  A 6000 foot grass strip would be no problem at all, as long as the grass is kept short.  How wide is it?  Maybe I could land on cross wise if the grass is not wet. (kidding). I hope you have a fun time at Tracy's and at the fly-in.  Paul Conner

Subject: [FlyRotary] New topic?? [FlyRotary] acetone ?

Well, since I was afeared to jump in the fray over shut-off valves and EWPs, I just kept my mouth shut.  But, looks like its settling down again. {:>).   Heading to Florida on Friday (weather permitting) to drink some of Tracy Crooks Beer and talk rotor talk - Oh, yes to attend the Leeward Ranch RV Flyin.  Any of you folks going??  Got a 6000 ft grass strip so even you turbocharged canards could get out of it easily - we know that Paul wouldn't have any trouble landing cross wise given his recent experience {:>).  - Got those drawers cleaned out, Paul?? {:>)

Subject: [FlyRotary] acetone ?

The last email I received was at 9:46 PM yesterday and was about acetone; either someone somewhere spilled some of it on our server; or this list has gone quiet, all of a sudden. If I have offended any of you out there to the point you have simply cut me off all this good info, I apologize, sincerely, no less. <g> THIS IS A TEST.
