Rick, I had a similar problem last year on my 91 convertable. Does it sound
like it has no compression? If so, remove bottom plugs, squart some ATF (or
gear oil) into the spark plug holes. Rotate the engine by hand (use what
ever pully is close by), forward and backwards, with your finger over a
spark plug hole. Do this untill you feel 3 compression hits per rotor. Clean
and instal the plugs, move the car OUT OF THE GARAGE! Should start and kill
all misquittos with-in 5 miles. I started mine @ night so that no one would
call the fire dept.
what happens is that the rotors and seals expand @ different rates. Always
run the engine untill everything is warmed up. If not, the seals get stuck
in the rotors and you can not get compression. The ATF (or gear oil) is used
to create a seal untill temp. unsticks the rotor seals. Then, make a mental
note NOT to start up and stop again!
been trying to start an 88 out here all day. some direction here would be
greatly
appreciated.
thankx
Rick
