Ok, at least you have a heat shield. Better not be alu but SS. A small crack in the exhaust header is all it takes to evaporate an alu screen.

I still wouldn't feel comfortable with that one line snaking its way between exhaust headers and intake. Can't you modify that long fuel rail to have the fuel regulator output come out top or to the side?

Yep they are still there, but have a heat shield between the exhaust and the line. Will measure the air temp there next time I run with cowling. Do not believe it gets very hot there and while you are running there is lots of fuel flow in the pipe and airflow off the radiator. When I go to hot start and run the pumps a short time, lots of cool tank flow comes thru there. Thanks for the heads up, will monitor it.
