Hi, Bernie....It would seem on the surface, at least that they would drain equally. There are a few factors that can alter that statement, however....primary concern is venting. They need to be identical in length, diameter and positioning.
Yes, my tanks drain at the same rate. As far as sucking air when empty, that I cannot answer, as I never have ran any of my tanks empty. I like the warm, fuzzy feeling I get with plenty of fuel in my tanks. Since both tanks run into a sump tank, it would seem that even if one tank were empty, the fuel from the remaining tank would still run downhill to fill the sump tank. Am I missing something here? Take care, and congrats again on receiving your airworthiness certificate. Paul Conner

Sorry Paul, I'm having a senior moment. Do your tanks empty at the same rate or not? My aux tanks, 12 gals in each wing are coming thru a common selector valve position with the intersection below the level of the tanks, do you think they will pump both dry or one dry and then air even though there is fuel in the other tank?? Boy that is an engineers sentence structure:>)
Raining today and a good day to take the EC2 manual in the cockpit and try to get all the modes semi understood! Tracy gives lots of options, but requires some user responsibility.
