Just to confirm this... We are talking about a non-belt driven PM
alternator only without a water pump, with the stator mounted directly to
our existing front cover, via some sort of adapter (or a cu$tom front
cover?) and the rotor would take the place of the existing pulley mounted on
the e-shaft, and have the outer surface of the rotor machined as a
pulley/belt drive for a main alt. (or water pump for you non-EWP types)
    Does this sound about right?
Todd, Got it in one try. You are correct. Since my 20B is serpentine I would hope that is possible yes. They make a 32 amp version which would run most planes as a primary if you don't fly with the landing lights on all the time. I believe the intent is to provide a bracket to fit the front cover, since a new cover would be VERY expensive. The same unit would probably be fitable to the PSRU if you wanted to get creative. Barret Engineering (The Parent Co) could probably provide the flattest pulley or just a magnet holding cup to fit in the PSRU. You would have to provide all the dimensions though. Since it would be custom it would probably cost more. (most one-off things do)
