Biggest time comsumer on the plane that I have left is putting
the #3 bolts into the Z members between the tank and the spar. You put these in
from the rear of the spar thru the inspection plate. It is #*$### time with my
big clumsy mitts in there.
Sounds just like the
-8. Loads of fun :-)
Not sure if I'm doing the maiden flight or our resident test pilot , Tom
Hahn. He had said he would, but I'm beginning to think there is slim to no
chance of a problem with the RV9A, but more likely if there is a problem, it
will be with the engine installation and I'm more familiar with it than he
is.
This is always a tough
decision, and no one can help much. The best thing about RV's is that you
can't hardly make one fly badly. If you build it anywhere close to the way
Van intended, it will treat you right. Do invite folks over to nitpick the
airframe though. Amazing what a lot of different eyes can find.
Good luck. No hurry!
