Being an electric vehicle type, I have a DC clamp-on ammeter. I
use it constantly. It would be the ideal tool to use to measure the current
draw for each of the loads on your airplane. It would also be useful in
load testing (capacity testing) your battery. You can get one used for
about $100. New, they cost about twice that. Be careful to get one that
measures DC amps, (not just AC)
OK, I'm holding you
personally responsible for the fact that I spent a couple hours looking at DC
clamp on meters. I've often needed one, but for some reason never got
one. I now have an Extech 380947 on the
way.
Cheers,
Rusty (work to do, but
customers won't let me have the machine, pays the same though)
