If they want to be nasty and lock you down to their hardware/software
solution, then they can require you to use special interfaces/cable and
scramble the data so that you don't have a hope without handing them
some dollars.

Thanks.  It'll be a couple weeks until I get the unit, so I'll find out more when it arrives.  I'm hoping it will be as simple as just capturing it, but we'll see.   I don't think FJO is trying to make it hard.  I just think they don't have much reason to expect people are going to try to capture data on an Ipaq.  Remember, most cars have enough room to carry a laptop when needed.  I didn't exactly tell them why I wasn't doing that, and fortunately, they didn't ask. 
 
Now if you can just figure out why some of my mail arrives on time, and some an hour later, while yet other messages pile up and get delivered all together.  I'm basically reading the messages on the web archive page so I can see them in order.
