Well I'm glad I'm not the only one with a new out-of-spec oil chain. My original chain was just a little more than 1/2" slop, so I ordered a new one which was exactly the same... just a little more than 1/2" slop. No problems with it so far. So I wouldn't worry about it, but I am interested in what Bruce has to say about it.

I found the same thing on a new oil chain myself - my old one had perhaps a tiny bit more sag, but the new one didn't seem to meet the specs called for. Been flying with it for 260 hours, so far.

I still measure ½” of slop on the new oil chain, which is the same as the one I took off. According to the video, that’s too much slop, so I have a message into Tracy and Bruce about it.  I'm guessing this has to be normal, but it was a good place to stop last night, and I'll wait for an answer before putting the front cover on.
