Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Moroso Oil Pans
for 13B
Rusty,
I am having trouble determining if I need a front sump or
rear sump for a RV configuration. A pusher would take just the opposite. My
main concern is during climb out.
I am planning of Freds mounts so the splash plate should
not be needed.
Bobby
Can someone provide input as to which one of these
two oil pans would work with our application? Or, does anyone see any
reason why one of these will not work?
Hi Bobby,
I don't see a problem with either of these, or the
stock pan. All it has to do is hold oil. The
big question will be which one fits your mount. If you're using one
of Fred's mounts, you would probably want to make sure you can leave
off the baffle plate on the Moroso pan, since the engine mount plate already
does this for you.
BTW, thanks for the pointer to these. I never
even knew they existed. If the rear mount pan had a much shallower front
section, I'd be tempted to try one, since I have some clearance
issues with the stock pan.
Cheers,
Rusty
