I need to mark my dipstick with a full mark that takes the plate
thickness into account, about a 1/2" I guess.
Hi
Steve,
As I mentioned to Dave,
you can only change the dipstick level mark if you also extended the pickup
tube by 1/2" when you installed it. If you didn't extend the pickup
tube, you need to leave the full mark where it was originally. This is
what I did originally, and always regretted not extending the tube, because
you're just carrying around oil you can't use. When I put it all
back, I'll make a 1/2" spacer to lower the pickup tube to match the pan, then
I'll do as Dave suggested and cut a half inch off the dipstick
tube.
Cheers,
Rusty
