Paul,
Your temps sound really good. I don't think that
you'll have any trouble, even in the summer.
I worked for months to get my temps down to where you
are now.

Sorry I haven't been posting flight reports
recently. I have flown the SQ2000 again now that I
have gotten my static rpm's up to 5300 rpm. Marked
improvement in both takeoff roll, climbout and
cruise. I actually was able to throttle back while
orbiting the airport at 2500 feet. On previous
flight I needed full power (prior to fine tuning the
mixture ratios). Outside air temps on the ground
have been around 70 degrees. (it is cooler today,
but I am not flying today). Since my engine is
putting out more power, it also puts out more heat. Watertemps at one point WOT in the climb were at 190
and oil around 180. Once leveled off, temps came
back down to stabilize around 175 for the water and
172 for the oil. It was nice to have the extra
power and speed, of course. I'm thinking that once
I assemble the street ported 4-port I just
purchased, it will be even more impressive. Hope to have the street ported 4-port this
coming week, and will post pictures after it
arrives. Take care. Paul Conner
