I’m in CA, (San Diego county), and when I got my N
number I did get a notice from the county wanting information on value, etc.;
and informing me that I would have to pay tax. I simply responded with a
note that what I had was rolls of fiberglass cloth, bottles of epoxy, nuts and
bolts, etc; and that it would be many years before it would be an
airplane. Never heard from them again.

Folks,
This is a response I wrote the other day to a feller
asking about California
taxation on the Cozy list.
I
have my own story to tell, but it's too long for this and not germain
to
rotaries. Suffice to say it is
bizarre.
