Thanks for the info.  I agree about the simplicity.  I'll end up making a manifold either way, and how much easier can it get than a single round tube sticking out of the housing?  If RB ever gets done with their aluminum front side housing, I'll want to go with both the front and rear, and those come set up for PP by default. 
 
Here's the real question- if you were going to take your best guess at PP timing that would result in a manageable engine, with good power at 7500 rpm, what would it be?
