 Rusty,

I must qualify my statements with the factthat I bought this engine from a previous member of this group who bought itfrom RX-7 Specialties. What I was told during the sales transition was that RX-7Specialties had exchanged the rotors for higher compression and did a"mild street porting" on it. Post the sale I had conversations withAdam at Rx-7 and what I was told seemed to be true. Therefore, I would thinkthat the assembled engine left Canadafree of water. The combustion chambers had and still have a generous helping ofATF and no signs of corrosion in that area.

What is interesting is that I have leftthe drain plug out and have watched it for quite a while to see if afterhot/cold weather changes there was any drip. None to date!

 Just another mystery….

 Dean

About last spring I found water in my"new" engine that was bought from RX7 Specialties. It has beensitting several years. I can only attribute the water to condensation as Idon't think the shop ran these engines after they weremod'ed.

I can't recall, was your engine actuallymodified, or did you just purchase it as-is?   I got mine fromRX-7 Specialties as-is, and they said they thought Mazda ran them and left thewater in.  I just find it hard to believe that there is that muchcondensation collecting in these engines, but it's perhaps a more reasonableexplanation than believing Atkins, and Mazda left water in them.

 Cheers,

Rusty (ordered a master rebuild kit, EC-2,EM-2, and RD-1C today)
