Greetings,
As I ponder what I might do
differently "next time", I have to wonder if I might not consider an Ellison
throttle body rather than EFI. I had one of these on my RV-8, and it
worked beautifully. It's simple, reliable, had great throttle response,
and good mixture control. It also only requires 5-6 psi of fuel
pressure, and no return line (usually). The downside is the cost, which is
about $1650 for the EFS-4-5.
I don't personally care for
traditional carbs, and the Ellison is certainly not a traditional carb. As
well as it atomizes fuel, and as controllable as the mixture is, I can't see why
it wouldn't produce as much power as the EFI system.
Has anyone tried one of
these on a rotary? Any thoughts on the subject?
Cheers,
Rusty (getting nervous
about high pressure fluids that burn)
