Been there, done that (with Tracy’s blessings).  He refers to it as an “eyebrow” shaped recess.  Worked fine, but that’s not the problem.  See my reply to Charlie for more details.

Hi Marc, I ground (with Tracy’s blessing) a recess in the aluminum housing behind one bushing just enough that the bushing can back out. This way I can rotate the flange and pop the bushings one at the time. Works great. You’ll need a air grinder and sharp grinding bit. All the work is done through one of the holes in the flange.
