Great time talking airplanes, rotary's , etc.
Many thanks to Laura for her hard work, financial support, and arranging to pull this event off after the river flooded. The food was great and the bullsessions transferred much info.
Some thoughts of mine for next year's roundup. We should consider finding a location that can handle the canards since they do not like grass runways. Location would have to provide a building we could use to feed and hold our "hangar talks in". The building could be an EAA club house or an empty hangar. The flyin should be dedicated to only interested "rotor heads". We had attendees at least from the following states (and countries): Japan, Florida, Arkansas, Missippi, California, Oregon, North Carolina, Illinois, and Texas. Who did I leave out?
Bruce promised to provide Laura a suggested breakin procedure (not nearly as detailed as Dave's and his Uncle Zed) for the RWS website.
Tracy proved that the Renesis (sp) can idle smoothly and accelerate like a banshee. His new air intake makes my complex array of FG tubes (DIE) complicated as all get out. If I were starting to do an intake today, I would copy his system. It may not be the ultimate in performance, but sure is SO much easier to build and install and it is flying. He never ceases to amaze me at how he makes things work with JB WELD, wood bellmouths, etc. He has me thinking that I may be bringing the induction air thru such a long,large (4 inch) diameter duct that it may pick up too much heat! I am measuring the air temp just before the thottle body.
Really enjoyed getting to know some more of the listers and catching up with old friends.
