Hey, Rusty....thanks so much for taking the time to send the pictures of the in line Peterson oil filter.  Looks like it would solve all of my problems.  Thanks again, and  welcome home. Hope you get to do some flying soon.  Paul Conner

I seem to recall seeing some pictures of an in-line oil filter that was used on a 13b. Rusty was that yours?  If so, would you please re-post any details/descriptions of the unit?  Approximate size, cost and of course a picture is worth a thousand words.

Hi Paul,

Attached is the best picture I have of the filter, and here's a link to the info-  http://www.petersonfluidsys.com/oilfilt.html

I got the "400 series w/inlet accessory port", and I'm using the 60 micron element now.  I got mine direct from Petersons, and they were awesome to deal with.  Basically, you tell them what you want, and they'll provide it.  I had them drill and tap the accessory port for 1/8 NPT for a temp sender.  Be aware that the units are so well anodized, that you'll have to solder a ground wire to the sender body to get a good ground to it.   The ends just screw on, so if you want a port on both ends, they can do that too.  They knew mine was for an airplane, and didn't have a problem with it.  Their official statement was something like "we don't recommend our products for aircraft use, however they'd be very well suited to it" :-)

Cheers,
Rusty (flying this weekend, probably working next weekend)
