Hi Doug, I put in an 1/4" offset (front of the stab right for my 2.17:1  RD1-B drive).  My engine mount is also offset 1.25 deg and I find that I still use a lot of rudder on take off and climb.  I also need 3-4 pounds of rudder in fast cruise to keep the ball centered.  Slow cruise (110 kts) I need no rudder.  I will probably install a small trim tab.

So I would probably recommend at least the 3/8" offset since I believe the conversion consepts mount is straight.

If you are going to use the RD-1C drive.  Besides offsetting the other way, the big prop you will be using puts the tips further out and increases that p-factor even more.

I am mounting the vertical stabilizer and I'm now to the point where I drill the forward attach point.  I therefore was wondering if I should center it along the fuselage center line or go with Van's recommended setting?  I am using a conversion concepts mount.

Thanks for your input.
