We used #2 _everywhere_ for the main power feed... from the batteries to
the
master relays, up to the firewall, and forward to the starter.  I also
doubled
up on the engine ground leads, with one running alongside the starter wire
to
the starter, the other connected to the engine at the alternator.  We used
a
double-sided ground "forest" (mounted to the firewall) from AeroElectric
to
keep all the grounds together.  The starter relay is on the front of the
firewall (visible in the attached photo) and connects to the main battery
cable on the back of the firewall with a 3/8" brass bolt as a the
pass-through, using a 1/8x1" copper bar to connect the input side of the
relay
from the bolt.  I still think that 2/0 is overkill for the starter, but if
it
makes you more comfortable and you can live with the weight, go for it.

Hi, Marv.....yes, I feel comfortable with the 2/0 wire for the starter. As
for weight, the wire is only 19 inches long, so we're not talking about very
much weight for peace of mind.  Thanks for the info and pictures.  Your
installation looks first class.  Paul Conner
