I got
out for a flight tonight (finally) and had a chance to try out my E-Boost
controller from TurboSmart. So far it's disappointing as it seems to control
based on differential pressure only and not absolute pressure as desired. I do
need to do some further testing and experimenting with the set points, but it's
not encouraging.

Sounds like
nothing's working right these days. So far, one owner (my RX-7 buyer), the
factory, and your dealer(s) have all said that it was an absolute pressure
device, so it must be. Before you get too discouraged, email the
manufacturer. They were completely open to hearing about aircraft use of
their controller, and I'm sure they'll help.
