I am still trying to finalize installation on my IV-P. You may remember = I had Greg Cole look at the panels. He was very concerned that the = leading edge radius was much tighter than the original airfoil and that = would aggravate stall characteristics. According to his model, the = h-stab in particular would stall at 40% of the AOA of the bare airfoil. = At one point I sent Len Fox to test your airplane but the weather = didn't work out. I still have panels just like yours in storage which I = have not installed yet. Anyway, since then I was very very close to having specially built = panels supplied by CAV aero-space. However, the person I was dealing = with left the company in October. It now appears that CAV is not going = to honor the agreement. Therefore I am in re-evaluation mode. So I have these questions for you. - assuming a wonderful installation such as you have, have you noticed = anything "weird" about the way it flies at low airspeed? - how many times have you used the system and what have been the = results? - if you didn't have de-ice, how much would it reduce the utility of = the airplane? best regards, Colyn Case 802 888 7422 On Feb 25, 2009, at 2:43 PM, Dr. Weinsweig wrote: i have a tks system installed by brian alley(304-395-4932) on my propjet. it is a sleek installation and a tried and proven system and when done right does not seem to cost much in the way of speed. i saw 313 ktas at fl210 this past weekend! i have no experience with the other systems but for a proven "get out of jail/ice card" i did and would stick with the tks system. david weinsweig n750dw lancair propjet still for sale-make offer weinsweigd@gmail.com=20 304-633-5221 -- For archives and unsub = http://mail.lancaironline.net:81/lists/lml/List.html
