Same here, I had an Performance Engine on my Velocity, and it had also a lot of issues. Bolts breaking off the cylinder going through the prop (very expensive) etc
Do not even think of those engines, and those that are already have those, I would not only have the oil changed every 40 hours but getting an inspection as well. The 4p is not a pussycat without an engine out ;)

Starter bearing cracked, oil pump gears grinding each other away, lots
of evidence of a "dirty" build with multiple score marks, but I think
the most damning was the use of regular hardware store nuts (not high
strength ones) on the crankcase through bolts. Please, Please if you
know anyone comtemplating having Performance build them an engine,
talk them out of it. You at least will save them a lot of money, and
maybe something more dear.
