The manual points out that the wing design has two shapes
with a linear transition between them. Each shape must be as straight as
possible. After filling the outer wing shape, it is perfectly straight. As I
began working on the inner wing shape I noticed that not only did it have a
difference incidence(less swept back) it also had a 1.2 degree steeper dihedral
than the outer wing surface. Like the outer wing, the inner wing surface is
perfectly straight. The change in Dihedral takes place in the transition
between the two wing surfaces. This is not mentioned in the manual.
However, it becomes evident when you extend the inner wing surface to the tip
of the outer wing there is a 1 1/2" difference between the two. I measured
the other wing and it's identical. So either it's part of the wing design or
somehow I managed to built both wings crooked. I have a call into the factory
to determine if this is a problem or a feature.
Can anyone confirm that there is indeed a change in Dihedral
between the two compound wing surfaces?
