I called Vern at Kit Components who told me that because of the variation in the widths of the spar boxes, Lancair was supplying one bolt that would fit all installations. He suggested making a collar to fit over the bolt instead of using a lot of washers. I asked the Tech Advisor from my EAA chapter who said that a build up of washers or a collar are acceptable because there are no sheer forces working on the bolts. At Oshkosh I will try to find a 3/4" bolt that is the correct length, or several pounds of 3/4" washers.
