> I'm wondering what to do if anything, about
joints and low spots in particular which have been filled with epoxy and
micro.
Does it make sense to give these areas a light coating of epoxy prior to
applying
any finishing materials?<

I got the low spots leveled as best as possible with micro balloons/epoxy
then used a spray on filler called Aerolight as I recall.  Only then should
you do the DP40 and K36.  The micro balloons are much less likely to chip
as compared to the K-36.  Body work is an art and if you can see flaws in
the body work the paint will amplify the flaws.  I had 900 hours in the
body work and about 200 in the painting.  Could cut this in half if I were
to do it again.

I used a dry vacuum pump but have a cool air supply blowing over it.  I
believe that heat is the main enemy to the dry pumps. The top of my
accessory compartment which is where the temperature sensor is located gets
up to 200F which is pretty hot.
