Dan Morris runs the company and his e-mail address is morristec@icdc.com. They're a distributor for the Schroth harnesses that are in the Columbia. Schroth is a high quality belt made by a German company which has their U.S. offices in Boulder, CO. Their web site is http://www.schroth.com/english/e2.html. I'm looking into their 3 point belts with inertia reels that the Columbia uses. He said if I wanted a set of four of the 3 point harnesses with inertia reels, it would run $1000, which I find a bit steep. If I don't want the inertia reels for the back seat, those two belts would run $130 each instead of $250. Like Fred, I've also talked with Tom Hodgdon at Amsafe. Amsafe is another big company that makes, among other things, belts that are used in airliners. I'm waiting for Tom to send me a sample of some harnesses that are hopefully less expensive than the Schroth belts. He said he's worked with Lancair builders before and he seems eager to develop a product we can all use. The one sure thing is that I'm not using the belts supplied with my ES kit. Too much stuff dangling from the walls and I want shoulder restraints in the back seat.
