Ideally, I had planned to go to Oregon to get current (haven't flown in 4 years) and checked out in the Lancair. This can't be done now because someone landed the demonstrator gear up and fixing it is low enough priority that it won't be done this summer according to the tech rep. Then the plan is to have one of the factory guys come out and inspect the bird and fly it the first time. Avemco seems a little slow on the whole subject but sent me a quote assuming I go through the EAA flight advisors program and that the test pilot also go through the fight advisor's program if I want to avoid the clause saying that the first 10 hours of flight are uncovered. My question is: how do I get adequate time in the 360 to get competent with it before I take mine solo? I suppose I could keep the test pilot around for awhile but is that the right plan?
