Scott,
I'm all ears. Please fill me in on the corrosive effects of Simple Green.
As I noted yesterday, that product won an unofficial contest over 409.
Jenny Jet (no BS) and I conducted that test and we were pretty amazed at the
outcome. As I said, Simple Green won hands down (sic). We tested exhaust
stains on the under wing, engine oil behind the cowl and generally hard to
remove marks left over from wear, tear and maintenance, not to mention
windsheilds and shiny parts. Stratman Aero Service is one of the finest IA
shops on the West coast. When I left to build the IV-P, we had ~165 hrs of
licensed help (3 IA's & 2 mechs.) as well as 60 yrs of pilot/unlicensed mech
help, (Joanie and Jenny). Only ten years was lost when I left as my
replacement was well qualified. If Joan would let Don give her an A&P the
numbers
would skyrocket. Anyway, that is way off course. What is the deal on
Simple Green? What makes it so corrosive? Is it something to stay away
from or can it be used safely with precautions?
Thanks,
Walter Dodson
