Aircraft Investor Resources (Epic LT) received their first customer experimental amateur built airworthiness certificate from the FAA yesterday.
Larry Carter was presented his certificate of airworthiness from the FAA after a two day exhaustive evaluation of his build log and aircraft. The inspection was done by one person from the Seattle MIDO and two inspectors from Washington headquarters.
They did a thorough evaluation and were very fair in the assesment and I learned a lot about the process that I did not know after building two Lancairs.
Epic now has a kit on the FAA evaluated kit list and our first amateur built plane. This was a huge event for us and our customer. As you all know each aircraft is evaluated for amateur built status one at a time, they are looking very closely at this category be sure you are doing it right.
Safe flying and we will see you at Sun-n-Fun
