They do not have the 1400 any more. The 1600 took its place. If I were to do it over again, I would seriously consider the 800. It would be at least twice the size screen of the Garmin 530 and the 395. So it would be a good size. The problem there, like Bryan's, is that the hard drive would be going south at about 10 to 11K feet. The air is too thin to provide a cushion for those heads. They hit the disks and there goes the drive. In fact, Motion now lists an altitude limit on the 1600 and 800 as: 10,000 ft. Check their website www.motioncomputing.com My WXWorx receiver works well sitting on the hatshelf. But that is without any seats installed and not flying yet. The bigger problerm is that the BT connection is frequently lost and it is hard to get back sometimes. We did wire in a switch near the front so that we can cycle the unit off then on the reboot the WxWorx receiver. Several manufacturers make holders for the tablet PC's. I have a couple of websites if you are interested. I'll probably mount one on the fuel selector cover that runs from the bulkhead to the floorboards under the rudder pedals. It will be a multi axis pedestal and a holder that I would velcro to the cover of the Motion 1400. The cover snaps to the back of the computer when the tablet is in use. Hope this helps. John
