Why not machine off the convex portion of the wing-tip access panel and
create a flat surface with 3-BID on which to mount the light? That would
be much cleaner than trying to fair in a raised surface to accept the light
and eliminate the mess you might wind up with by trying to form a gasket.
Just a thought......
