Located about 10 miles north of Reno. Here are a few choices. 1) Reno International, all the FBOs inflate tiedown charges during the races, but it is literally downtown Reno. 2) Truckee-Tahoe Airport. About 25-30 miles (all freeway) from Stead, but is close to Lake Tahoe and is a quaint little town. 3) Carson City. About 20-25 miles south of Reno. Where to stay. Too many choices to list. In Reno I always stay away from the large Casino/Hotels, and try a bargain motel. All have inflated prices during the races. Not sure about Truckee or Carson City rooms, but probably not inflated above normal rates. As you can probably determine from the above, a car is a necessity. William L.
