Bill, We extended our repair into the wing through root rib to the next outboard rib . The spar  was  snapped just outboard of the aluminum plates . The carbon  spar cap was splintered and so we felt the need to scarf a new cap at least 12 inches overlap and then laid-up 8 plies BID on a bias on forward side of the shear web . We made a mold of the shape of the spar c-section to hold everything in place . Then removed the mold and then added several plies to wrap the outside > I'll find the pictures and our notes on the repair and forward them . We consulted with the factory on this and were told they would not " bless " this repair without doing it themselves but were told we were "heading in the right direction " . They must read the LML as they have now asked for copies of the pics and notes . We're a little busy at the moment so it may be a couple of days before I'll be able to find the info , but I will.
