I believe SWR stands for standing wave ratio, and is a measure of the
antenna efficiency. The Legacy skin is conductive (clip a battery's leads to
the skin and you'll see--but be ready to unclip promptly. I think the skin
serves as a ground plane, as does the skin of  a metal plane.   Wendell Durr
