Randy,
Like Bob, I put an Electroair ignition in place of the right mag on my
IO-540.  While I had some problems with it occasionally missing at high
power settings down low (high MAP situations), it worked OK for the first
year I had it and gave me markedly better performance in my ES.  However
right before Oshkosh this year, it started missing a lot and sometimes not
working at all.  I could usually get it working bt reseating all of the
connections, but it always started missing again once the engine got hot.
When it stopped working or when I had to turn it off when it began acting
up, I lost 15-20 knots of TAS.
Jeff Rose worked with me to find a solution and the last thing we tried
was replacing the pickup in the timing unit.  When that failed, he told me
that there must be a problem with the electronics in the main box for the
system.  It was only then that he admitted to me that he was no longer
selling them, as his supplier had recently been giving him bad units. Jeff
is now looking for another job, but hopes to support the customers he now
has.  As a result of this and after talking with several Electroair users at
Oshkosh, ALL of which had experienced various problems with their systems, I
bought a Light Speed ignition from Klaus Savier and am installing it this
week.  I'd have bought the Light Speed in the first place, but it requires
the installation of a timing pickup using magnets in the flywheel, which
means pulling the prop off to accomplish, versus Electroair's quick install
timing unit that goes in the old mag hole.  Needless to say, my prop's
coming off this week.
At any rate, you won't be able to buy an Electroair anymore and at least
from my experience with it, I wouldn't recommend it.  Look into the Light
Speed ignition - it has an excellent reputation AND they're not going out of
business.  Their web address is http://www.lightspeedengineering.com .
