Lorn,

Thanks for the email.
$2350 per blade.  Two blades.  That's just parts.  Then labor, plus a lot of
people are recommending I tear down the engine.  Minimum total bill of about
$6,000 and about 15,000 if I do the engine too.

AeroComposites has two blades available now, but paint (which they require)
and assembly minimum two to three weeks.  72" is what I have now and what I
will use for replacement.

Insurance is AIG.  Deductible is $100.  So that is good.  Just concerned
about how much my insurance will increase after this.

AeroComposites and US Propeller (who assembles the props for
AeroComposites)have each seen the photos (below is a photo of the other
tip).  US Propeller WANTS to fix the blades.  AeroComposites is rather
adamant that they should be replaced.  US Propeller says that if they have
ever seen a case where a blade should be repaired, this is it.  They are
rather annoyed that AeroComposites thinks it should be replaced, as they are
basically implying this is a NON-repairable blade.  Under what circumstances
COULD it be repaired???

I am still angered about the inconsiderate action of the helicopter pilot.

Matt
