Solution: 1. Always shut down with the fuel selector, not the mixture, to empty the lines. 2. With throttle and mixture closed tightly, run the boost pump until you get steady normal fuel pressure. 3. Mixture rich, turn on boost and simultaneously move throttle to full and back to off in about a three second movement and turn boost off. 4. With boost off and mixture closed, hit starter and move throttle slowly from idle to wide open if necessary, and as soon as engine fires, move throttle back with one hand and open mixture with as appropriate with the other hand. With our engine, taxiing has to be done with mixture leaned way back, even at sea level, for smoothest running, then richened for runup.
