Gee, maybe I'm just lucky, but with my first exposure to injected engines (a Commander 112 I rented for my commercial certificate two years ago) I was taught to flood the hot engine with the boost pump, turn the pump off, then start the engine with the mixture in idle cut-off and the throttle wide open. It worked every time, though I'll admit that it was a bit of a Chinese fire drill to release the key, yank the throttle back before the engine oversped, then shove in the mixture before the engine died.
But it started every time...
