I have an O-320, and if I'm just stopping for fuel (or other short stop), I never kill it with the mixture. When I'm ready to roll, it fires instantly. This may only be a problem with injected engines though (I'm not qualified to say). It just doesn't seem necessary to kill it with the mixture on a short stop and have to reprime, etc. etc.
