Before I got my Lancair, I had  Mustang II with an 0-320.  Hot engine starts were a bitch.  I found a simple cure.   When I shut the engine down I did it with the mag switch, not the mixture.  Never touched the mixture.  When I got back in my plane after eating my $40 hamburger, I turned on the mag, hit the starter switch and it started on the first blade. . .every time.  I passed this on to others and they had the same success.  Warning!!  Don't screw around with the prop during your walk-around.  Pat Halloran
