N540L has been given a Special Certificate of Airworthiness by a DAR(F).
Carsten Sundin, of Norway, who is also a Lancair employee at Redmond, OR, was
the builder of this fine example of kit products. He has fabricated a 63
gallon reserve tank that nestles into the right seat, for his planned flight
to Norway this year. Tank is carbon fiber composite, weighs in at 19 lbs dry.
This is the first Legacy to receive an Airworthiness Certificate.
Also my first inspection at the Lancair facility.  Orin Riddel will do the
first flight. I'm sure it is a happy day for Carsten Sundin. The entire
inspection turned up only 2 minor items, not worth mentioning here.
all-in-all a 4.0 job. You guys out there building the 175 Legacy kits should
make it to wherever Carsten is showing it.
